Paul Klee 1
The other day I watched a great documentary on Paul Klee. It's pretty new (not that old PBS style). In Paul Klee: The Silence of the Angel, 2005 his life story is partially illustrated by puppets he made for his child. Each puppet is a character that represents a phase of his life. Of course there is beautiful black and white footage and lush colorful images of the work too. A bonus feature is 150 digital images of selected works you watch as a slideshow. A small cross section considering he made over 9,000 paintings and even more drawings.
You can rent it on netflix: Paul Klee: The Silence of the Angel. By documentarian Michael Gaumnitz. Released in 2005.
I couldn't find any clips of the film to post but here are just a few great paintings:

Just Words Today.
The only car I ever owned was for one year and it was a candy-apple red 1974 Duster with black racing stripes and a V8 engine to match. It originally belonged to my dad's ex-girlfriend/my boss at AAA. No, actually it originally belonged to an elderly lady who was too old to drive it and then gave it to my dad's ex-girlfriend, the boss at AAA. Now I recall that it did not originally belong to the old lady. Why would an old lady who was probably still an old lady but a younger old lady in the mid 70's want a muscle car?... with racing stripes. It originally belonged to the old lady's son who I'm assuming grew out of the car, not in size but in stature, upon graduating late puberty. That car, the 1974 Duster, manufactured in the same year I was born was the perfect fit for one year of my life. I was 17, in a band, already accepted to art school, had a girlfriend named Karma on the other side of Philly, I was in love, had a part-time job at the for-mentioned AAA and gas was $1.14 a gallon.
The cost of filling the tank was $18. Now it would be about $80?
I had to give the Duster back to my dad's girlfriend because they broke-up... and a couple of weeks later she was found embezzling loads of money from the company. I stayed working part-time at the AAA but was added another layer of black sheep to my already charcoal grey appearance.
I haven't owed a car since then. I haven't wanted to either. I already feel like my carbon footprint had gone from ballet slipper to rubber over-shoe by owning 1.5 air conditioners.
I bet Karma has a car.
