Just Words Today.
The only car I ever owned was for one year and it was a candy-apple red 1974 Duster with black racing stripes and a V8 engine to match. It originally belonged to my dad's ex-girlfriend/my boss at AAA. No, actually it originally belonged to an elderly lady who was too old to drive it and then gave it to my dad's ex-girlfriend, the boss at AAA. Now I recall that it did not originally belong to the old lady. Why would an old lady who was probably still an old lady but a younger old lady in the mid 70's want a muscle car?... with racing stripes. It originally belonged to the old lady's son who I'm assuming grew out of the car, not in size but in stature, upon graduating late puberty. That car, the 1974 Duster, manufactured in the same year I was born was the perfect fit for one year of my life. I was 17, in a band, already accepted to art school, had a girlfriend named Karma on the other side of Philly, I was in love, had a part-time job at the for-mentioned AAA and gas was $1.14 a gallon.
The cost of filling the tank was $18. Now it would be about $80?
I had to give the Duster back to my dad's girlfriend because they broke-up... and a couple of weeks later she was found embezzling loads of money from the company. I stayed working part-time at the AAA but was added another layer of black sheep to my already charcoal grey appearance.
I haven't owed a car since then. I haven't wanted to either. I already feel like my carbon footprint had gone from ballet slipper to rubber over-shoe by owning 1.5 air conditioners.
I bet Karma has a car.

Nicely composed brother. The car of my dreams for the last 12 years has been a Vespa. Once in Rome in our honeymoon, Lynne and I rented one to drive us around for about 4 days. After picking it up at the rental spot, where the dude in charge gave us the key, 2 helmets and his blessing/good luck in Italian we rode off amidst wolves. This dangerous transaction was beyond dangerous, but simply stupid on my part. Not Lynne's though, might I add, for she thought I knew how to drive the yellow thing. I drove it once 6 years ago in a parking lot the size of our current living room equalling the equation with catastrophic disaster. Needless to say Lynne and I crashed the beauty 8 minutes post its pick up. We parked it at the bed and breakfast and i walked it to the lot on the 4th day.
I almost bought one before moving to Providence, this time I thought if I had one i would actually practice a few more times in a place longer than the span of a living room. Money's tight and my diabetic needs spoke louder of my need for exercise. I purchased a bike and thank God Providence is the smallest city in this american landscape.
peace bro, hope all is well

Yeah, I'd start off with a bike too. I rode my bike all through grad school, even the winters. Good exercise and relief of art stress. A bike ride after studio was always the perfect remedy. Plus you can get one of those pully-type carriages to attach to the back and take one of the little ones along for a trip.
Similar to delux strollers, I bet ebay has a non-stop supply of sellers.
