I wrote some poems. I have this tiny orange pocket note pad that Lucky brought me back from Paris. It's good for writing one large word at a time or a few small ones. Actually I started writing descriptive lines in that note pad about a year in preparation for making something.
These are nice. I like the idea that you carry the notebook around to kind of prepare for making work. I would guess it helps to keep from getting stagnant about an idea. For a little while now I have been carrying envelopes with me and doing drawings, mostly of birds, whenever I get the chance. It is difficult for me to have huge chunks of time to work so this is a way I can do it little bits at a time.
The Ben shahn stuff, I could look at forever. I think you know you like something alot when you wish you did what that person did.

I agree Lynne - I have the same thought when I see films or paintings I like - that I wish I'd made them.
